School is already in the 3rd six-week grading period. Students and parents and staff are busy with all phases of the educational process, from athletics, academics, Ag stock shows, etc. Please look for report cards this week. Make sure you see your child’s report card.

It’s a great day to be a DILLO! Halloween is over, but there are still some scary things out there. The aftermath of the upcoming election may hold some surprises no matter who you voted for or who wins. Our third 6-weeks grading period started on Tuesday, and everybody is back face to face.

News From Cherokee ISD

Last week, the Cherokee Indians were all set to play Lohn. The varsity game was unfortunately cancelled, but the junior high team competed. The entire team was able to log some extensive playing time. Coach Shipman says, “Tatum Shanklin showed great leadership and heart.

Our 2020 JH Dillo and Lady Dillo Cross Country teams wrapped up their season on Monday, October 19th, in San Saba at the District Meet. What a season of success!! It wasn’t only about winning medals, but for these athletes, it was about Winning the Day!

Golden Armadillo Band receives First Division Rating; next contest November 14th in Burnet

The San Saba High School Golden Armadillo Band competed in the Big Country Marching Festival in Abilene this past weekend and had a very successful day.

The first blue norther on Monday brought a taste of winter and colder temperatures this week. This is the last week in the month of October. Friday, October 30th, is also the end of the second six-week grading period.

It’s a great day to be a Dillo! When I was in elementary school in the early seventies there was always a line for the slide at our playground. Slides were different then. They were tall, steep, straight, and fast. The shiny metal surface would heat up to about 1,000 degrees in the sunshine.

Lady Dillos’ and Dillos’ XC both qualify for regional meet

The 2020 San Saba High School girls’ and boys’ varsity cross country teams continued their stellar seasons on Monday, October 19 when the Lady Dillos and Dillos took part in the District 29-2A cross country meet held at San Saba River Golf Course in San Saba.
