SSHS Armadillo Band members advance to State

Several members of the San Saba Golden Armadillo Band competed at the Region UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest this past weekend at the Westlake Performing Arts Center in Austin. Their performances earned them the coveted First Division Superior Rating advancing them to the State Contest in May.

San Saba Powerlifting hosts second meet

The San Saba High School girls and boys varsity powerlifting teams hosted their second meet of the season on February 17 as the Lady Dillos and Dillos had a solid outing.

The San Saba Tennis Team played in the Copperas Cove Invitational Tennis Tournament. The JV played on Thursday, February 17th, and the Varsity played on Friday, February 18th. This was one of the strongest tournaments we will play in all year. Their were 17 teams playing in the tournament.

The San Saba High School girls and boys varsity powerlifting teams were in action on Thursday, February 10, as the Lady Dillos and Dillos competed at the 2022 Heart of Texas powerlifting meet hosted by nearby Brady High School.

HPU honors students for academic success in the fall semester

Howard Payne University recognized 239 students for academic success during the fall 2021 semester. Students must earn a 4.0 grade point average to be named to the President’s list, a 3.65-3.99 grade point average to be named to the Dean’s List and a 3.5-3.

Indians Junior High boys hoops win District Championship

The Cherokee Junior High boys basketball program reclaimed their title of District Champions for the first time in five years. Not impressive in size or stature, their success can be summed up in a few words— well-coached and coachable.
