The San Saba Tennis Team played in the Gatesville Tennis Tournament on Tuesday, February 8, and Friday, February 11. Teams playing in the Tournament were Brownwood, Early, Gatesville, Leander Glenn, Jarrell, Mexia, San Saba, Stephenville, and Sweetwater.

The JV Team played on Tuesday in the JV Tournament. Playing in singles were Keely Pham, Kalina Shaeffer, Esperanza Baez and Sarah Wysong. Playing in Girls Doubles were Jessica Nguyen and Esperanza Baez, Evelyn Davila and Karol Guerrero. Playing in Boys Singles was Alexandro Parra. Kalina Shaeffer won a medal by winning consolation by defeating Luciana Gonzalez from Leander Glenn High School 8 to 5. Keely Pham was a quarterfinalist, and Sara Wysong was a quarterfinalist in the consolation bracket. Karol Guerrero and Evelyn Davila were consolation semifinalist. Jessica Nguyen and Esperanza Baez were consolation quarterfinalist. Alexandra Parra was a consolation quarterfinalist.

In the Varsity Division in Girls Doubles, Mia Kilman and Dana Luna won the third place medal by defeating Mares and Scull from Brownwood 8 - 3. Natalie Cuevas and Minerva Vasquez won the consolation medal by defeating Strebeck and Bonnett from Sweetwater 8-6. Hannah Vines and Demaris Patino were consolation quarterfinalist in girls doubles. In boys singles, Jacob Singleton was a quarterfinalist in Boys Singles, and Christian Morales was a consolation quarterfinalist. In boys doubles, Jose Aquilera and Timothy Williams were consolation finalist in boys doubles.

The JV Team will be playing in the Copperas Cove JV Tournament on Thursday, February 17, and the Varsity will play in the Copperas Cove Varsity Tournament on Friday, February 18. The following week on February 24 and 25, San Saba will be hosting their invitational tournament in San Saba. There will be 11 teams coming to the JV Tournament, which are Blanco, Burnet, Brownwood, Copperas Cove, Florence, Gatesville, Junction, Llano, Mason, Menard, and San Saba. In the Varsity Tournament, we will have 12 teams playing: Blanco, Brownwood, Burnet, Florence, Junction, Llano, Mason, Panther Creek, Rochelle, Santa Anna, San Saba, and Winters. There will be a lot of kids and parents in town for those two days. Come out and watch some exciting tennis.
