Dear Cherokee Home for Children Family, Thank you for your prayers as we searched to fill the house parent role for our girls cottage! God has answered in an exciting way! Please join us in giving a big Cherokee Home welcome to our new house parents, Chase & Talli Ellis, and their daughter Kennedi!

San Saba County Friends of Animals has confirmed its first case of parvo at the shelter, and out of an abundance of caution, we are temporarily closed to the public, volunteers, and all intake until March 1st.
Come Celebrate Texas Independence Day on March 7th with Scott Dunbar, KSJ, who is a Texas Revolution reenactor at the San Saba County Historical Museum in Mill Pond Park. “Sion R. Bostic, my 3rd Great Grandfather” is the title of O. Scott Dunbar’s talk on March 7th at “A Night at the Museum”Mr. Scott Dunbar will speak about Sion Record Bostick’s early boyhood life that he and his family experienced from the time they arrived in Texas.
