The Richland Springs Report

This was a good week. Everyone crawled out of their hibernation dens and stepped outside to enjoy the sun. Our weather is one of the reasons Texans don’t have seasonal wardrobes. We need to keep all clothes out because any given day could be a new season. I’m doing a closet clean out, and hopefully I can make my closets look neater.

The Sophomores hosted a BBQ luncheon on Sunday. According to Dalton Moats, who greeted me warmly, the best food was waiting for me inside. I do believe he was right. I put my name down on a beautiful pecan pie baked by Paula Miller, but I don’t think my bid was highest because no one called me to get it. Thank you to all students who took part in this fundraiser. Mrs. Starr was on the serving line directing the girls, Paige, and Emma, as they filled plates. Thank you, Christian and Matthew, for getting my sweet tea. Ian McKinnerney was able to open my tricky Tesla doors, so I could put my food in the car. Congratulations, Sophomores and sponsors, for an excellent event.

Next Sunday will be the Preservation Society community luncheon. I hope everyone will turn out for an enjoyable time, great food event. The doors will be open shortly after nine if you want to drop your dish off before church. Otherwise, the meal will be served around noon. Thank you so much for the excellent participation we receive from our community. Each meal provides funds for more repairs to the bank building. Several more windows were replaced last week. There will a preservation meeting on Tuesday the 17th at 6:30 p.m.

The response from our community to the GoFundMe page started to help the school out of its financial difficulties is heartwarming. We can waste time finger pointing, but that will not solve the problem. We have a fantastic staff that has accepted pay cuts to support the school. Please thank them and show them appreciation for their strong Coyote spirit. Pray for our school, our administration, and our staff.

The following is the calendar for the next two weeks: Feb. 12 - Stem Lab for grades 1-8; 8:00- 4:00 Feb 9-13 - DMAC six-week tests for all STAAR subjects.

Feb. 18 - OAP Clinic @ Stephenville Feb. 25 - Response to Injury/ SRP Presentation by Poe/Shaw Grades 7-12 Feb. 25 - OAP Clinic @ Ozona Please pray for our country, our community, our sick, and our shut-ins. Several people in our community have received negative results on their fight against cancer. Please pray for them and their families. Enjoy the warmer weather, but I think it will get my fruit trees. We all know winter is not through for us. God bless you, and God bless America. Most of all Lord, please take care of our precious troops.
