San Saba Co. Historical Museum to open this Saturday, April 2nd

Saturday, April 2nd, is opening day of the 2022 season at the San Saba County Historical Museum. It will be open every Saturday and Sunday afternoon from 1:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. through October. Group tours will also be available by appointment from our website: www.sansabamuseum.

A New Number for Colonoscopy

In a game of numbers, there is a new one when it comes to colonoscopies: 45. That is the age currently recommended by the American Cancer Society for getting an initial screening colonoscopy.

Tomato Troubles

You waited all season for that first red ripe tomato only to discover less-than-perfect fruit. Don't worry, you can still have a great harvest and improve things for next season. Blossom end rot is a common problem on the first set of fruit. The bottom of the tomato turns black.

60th “Diamond” Wedding Anniversary Celebration

Fred and Linda Hardy of San Saba met in Houston, Texas, in 1961 and married on March 31, 1962, at the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Nacogdoches, Texas. Fred grew up in San Saba, and Linda grew up in Nacogdoches.

Central Region Pecan Show results for 2021 Crop Pecans

Judging took place February 25th, at the TAMU Horticulture Deptartment HortTREC facility in Burleson County. Regional Pecan Shows are the intermediate step in identifying the top pecans grown in Texas each year.
