News From Cherokee ISD

Our Cherokee Indians took on Brookesmith last week in the Bi-District championship game. Brookesmith came out strong putting the first points on the board. However, Tristian Arkansas fired back with several touchdowns of his own. Joey Bond contributed to the point total with a few successful PATs.

Area football – Dillos, Coyotes and Indians each advance to second round of playoffs!

This past weekend turned out to be a very good one for San Saba County area football teams as the San Saba High School Armadillos, Richland Springs High School Coyotes, and Cherokee High School Indians all picked up crucial victories in the first round of their respective playoff brackets.

News From Cherokee ISD

Last week marked our last games of the regular season for our football boys. The junior high Indians fell to Rochelle. According to Coach Shipman, “The Indians played well in the first half, but untimely mishaps led to a loss. The team played very well this season posting a 6-1 mark.

Dillos take a loss to Cisco

It was tough Friday night for the Dillos (7-2, 4-1 in district) as they were beaten by the Cisco Lobos (7-3, 5-0 district) 48-6. The win vaulted the Lobos to district champs, while the Dillos will take the #2 spot in district 4-2A.

Coyote Pride

School is already in the 3rd six-week grading period. Students and parents and staff are busy with all phases of the educational process from athletics, academics, Ag stock shows, etc.… The Thanksgiving holiday will soon be upon us.
