U.S. News ranks Texas A& M’s online education among nation’s best

Texas A&M University’s online master’s program in education for veterans is ranked No. 4 nationally and several education and engineering programs are rated among the nation’s best in U.S. News and World Report’s 2021 Best Online Programs. In all, Texas A&M is highly ranked in 18 programs.

It’s been another great week here at Cherokee ISD. We are so thankful to be in school face to face, and we know that so much of that success has been because of the dedication of our students, staff, and community to be diligent about cleanliness and mask wearing.

Lady Coyotes Basketball Report

Taking an 8-0 lead in District 17, Richland Springs Lady Coyotes continue to show their dominance on the basketball court as they recently defeated Cherokee and Lohn during the second match up of District play.

San Saba Tennis Report

The San Saba Tennis Team played in the Llano Varsity and Junior Varsity Tournament last week. The Varsity Team traveled to Llano on Wednesday for the Llano Varsity Tournament. Teams in the tournament were San Saba, Llano, Sonora, Brady, Burnet, and Ingram.

Lady Dillo Basketball Report

The Lady Dillos picked up another district victory against Center Point on Friday night to move their district record to 10-0 and 21-0 overall. The Lady Dillos started off the game with great defensive pressure and excellent teamwork and ball movement on offense.

HPU honors local student for academic success in the fall 2020 semester

Howard Payne University recognized 227 students for academic success during the fall 2020 semester. Students must earn a 4.0 grade point average to be named to the President’s List, a 3.65-3.99 grade point average to be named to the Dean’s List and a 3.5-3.

San Saba Tennis Report

The San Saba Tennis Team open the 2021 season on January 21 playing the Burnet Bulldogs in Burnet. The tennis team played very well for their first match of the season. Burnet came out on top by winning 12 to 10.

Lady Dillos and Dillos Basketball still perfect in District play

The San Saba High School girls and boys varsity basketball teams remained perfect in District 29-2A play this past week as the Lady Dillos and Dillos both secured wins on the road over Johnson City High School and Harper High School.
