San Saba Tennis Report

The San Saba Tennis Team played in the Llano Varsity and Junior Varsity Tournament last week. The Varsity Team traveled to Llano on Wednesday for the Llano Varsity Tournament. Teams in the tournament were San Saba, Llano, Sonora, Brady, Burnet, and Ingram. Playing for the Armadillos were Sarah Saint, Brinlee Johnson, Mia Kilman, Dana Luna, Irene Jimenez, Jazmin Guiterez, Cadence Jimenez, Leia Kilman, Johnny Meador, Jonathan Perez, Timothy Williams, and Jose Aguilera. Sara Saint and Johnny Meador came in third place in mixed doubles. Brinlee Johnson and Jonathon Perez came in fourth place in mixed doubles. Dana Luna came in third place in girls singles. Mia Kilman came in fourth place in girls singles. Jose Aguilera and Timothy Williams came in third place in boys doubles. The JV played in the Llano JV Tournament on Thursday. Teams at the JV Tournament were San Saba, Llano, Burnet, Sonora, Brady, and Fredericksburg. Playing for San Saba were Natalie Cuevas, Tanner Profitt, Sara Wysong, One Nguyen, Karol Guerrero, Avery Tharp, Damaris Patino, Minerva Vasquez, Jacob Singleton, Jose Aguilera, and Everett Edison. Jacob Singleton came in second place in boys singles, Cuevas and Proffit came in fourth place in girls doubles, Tharp and Edison came in fourth place in mixed doubles.

The tennis team was scheduled to play Florence on Monday, February 1 but the match has been canceled. The Armadillos will next play on February 9 in Copperas Cove team tennis and the JV will play in the Liberty Hill JV Tournament on February 11.
