Districtwide seal coat project to start in Lampasas next week

Beginning Monday, June 22, 2026, (weather permitting) TxDOT’s contractor will begin the district-wide application of seal coat to state roadways throughout the Brownwood District. The district includes Brown, Coleman, Comanche, Eastland, Lampasas, McCulloch, Mills, San Saba and Stephens counties.

Newby awarded Rotarian of the Year

Rotary president Jake Lackey congratulated Aleck Newby as Rotarian of the Year. This award is presented to a club member who has consistently exhibited service above self. Aleck has chaired the annual golf tournament held each September for the last 12 years.

The main news for this week in town has been the Convoy of Hope summer feeding program. The first step was to meet at the San Saba Civic Center and load up pallets of canned goods and other non-perishables. There were multiple church organizations lined up to load up flatbed trailers and trucks.
