Hello, beautiful San Saba friends! This week I have kept one eye on news about local events and the other eye on my food bowl. Um, mom has been busy using the eyes in the back of her head and thwarting my attempts to explore the bratty side of being a dachshund! By the way, she told me if I don’t cut down on the snacks, people will look at me and think I need to be turned out to pasture!

I read some scientists did a study where they determined dogs can understand words…um, were these guys living under a rock since the beginning of time? If mom says the word snack, I run to the refrigerator, and if she tells me to move over on the couch, I snuggle closer, not because I don’t understand but to irritate her! Yeah, those guys wasted money, time and brain cells!

Sunday, Kathy Saucillo and Logan came by to take me and mom to downtown San Saba. It was the first time I had been, walked the sidewalks in my stroller like Patches and Herman used to. I greeted people, and then we sat and listened to the wonderful music of Erica Daniels. I had so much fun, and San Saba is truly beautiful, warm and welcoming. The sidewalks feel like pathways to peace, and the shops feel more like homes filled with personal welcome and warmth. I came away with not only a new vision of my home but a deep understanding.

I truly hope we get to share not only the beauty of our home with others, but the gentle nature and kindness as well. I hope each of you have a truly wonderful week, My eyes may be busy looking at various things, but my heart is always fixed on you!As always… love, Lenny!
