Scott and Abby Snyder Honored with July Yard of the Month

The San Saba Garden Club is pleased to recognize the home of Scott and Abby Snyder, 506 West Storey, as its July Yard of the Month.Scott, retired principal of San Saba High School, and Abby have created a landscape that reflects both careful planning and a genuine love of gardening.

National Vanilla Ice Cream Day

Last Thursday, July 23rd, was National Vanilla Ice Cream Day! The news office was given a 'COOL' treat by Allyssa Ramos from San Saba Rehabilitation. She brought ice cream sandwiches and said it was because it has been so hot outside.

Officer Gann selected as July 2026 Employee of the Month

Police Officer Jason Gann is the Employee of the Month for July. He was presented with a dedicated plaque with his name on it as well as a gift certificate to a local restaurant. He was honored at the July City Council meeting held July 14, 2026.

San Saba Masonic Lodge #612 to Host Monthly Meeting

San Saba Masonic Lodge #612 will hold its monthly stated meeting this Saturday, August 1, at the lodge. Doors will open at 8:00 a.m., with coffee available and breakfast served at 8:30 a.m. The stated meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m. for Masons who wish to attend.

The 2025 Texas Pecan Growers Conference & Trade Show was recently held in San Marcos, July 12-15, 2026. Plaques are awarded to the division Grand Champions.   Rosettes are awarded to both Grand and Reserve Champions in the following 3 divisions (Commercial Division, Classic & New Division & Natives.
