High School. He faithfully served his country in the US Air Force for four years serving time in both Germany and Korea. After serving in the military, he worked for the Texas DPS as a Highway Patrolman and then had a bread delivery route with Rainbow Bread.

Sheila Johnson

the pianist for six years. Sheila was a strong supporter of the Wednesday night Kids Night Supper and Activities. During her years in Georgetown, she was a supporter of the Policeman's Ride Along program for adults and youth so they could understand the daily activities of the Police Department.

Jackie Glen Hooten

Papa was a lifelong rancher. He loved everything fishing, hunting and ranching. He spent most of his time outdoors. He worked 22 years with Triple M Cattle Co. in San Saba. He also worked at San Saba New Holland until retirement.

Jewel Louise Watkins

Louise Watkins, 83, of Granite Shoals, previously long-term resident of San Saba, Texas, went to be with the Lord on April 7, 2023, in Granite Shoals, Texas. She was born on August 10, 1939, to her parents, Arthur Lee Smith and Jewell Catherine Rasco Smith, in Lampasas, Texas.

Norma Gene Meckel

Norma Gene Meckel went to be with our Lord and Savior on April 1, 2023 in New Braunfels, Texas. Norma was born in Big Springs, Texas, to Curtis Smith and Mina Suttle on August 25, 1936. Her father worked for the telephone company, so the family moved often.

Sue Harkey

Sue Harkey, a native of San Saba, Texas, passed away on March 25, 2023, with her loving husband of 63 years by her side. She was a proud part of the San Saba community and a devoted member of the Church of the Open Door.

Maria 'Susie' Garza

Maria “Susie” Garza left this Earth to join the Lord in Heaven on March 20, 2023, in San Saba, Texas. Susie was born to Julian C. Ramirez and Maria Santos Botello on May 9, 1953, in Granbury, Texas. She moved to San Saba, Texas, as a child and would later make it her home. Susie married Lewis C.

Suzanne (Hartley) Gage

Suzanne (Hartley) Gage passed away at the Lifecare Hospital of Plano on March 12, 2023, at the age of 69, after prolonged battle with pneumonia. A visitation with family was held at Heartland Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, March 17, 2023. Funeral Service was held at 10:00 a.m.

Bobby J. Baker

1950-53. He worked at Del Monte Corporation in San Francisco, California; Lone Star Steel in Lone Star, Texas; and he was an owner in San Saba Cap during the 1980s before retiring. During his younger days, he enjoyed camping and hunting around Eagle Lake in California with family and friends.
