Lutes and Gladys Lytle in Detroit, Michigan, where she grew up until moving to Florida and graduating from Largo High School. She met her husband Richard Matthews and was blessed with two beautiful daughters, Valerie and Vanessa. She worked as an administrative assistant in Houston before planting her roots in Richland Springs with family and friends. She was a dedicated member of Shiloh Bible Church, who provided comfort and support through the greatest and toughest times.
Diana is survived by grandchildren: Tori Thompson, Zachary Capps, and Zane Capps; sister, Patty Roy; and a host of friends and family, both blood-related and chosen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Gladys Lutes; sister, Alice Boling; brother, Clyde “Buddy” Lutes; husbands, Richard Matthews and David Hain; daughters, Valerie Thompson and Vanessa Capps; and son-in-law, Mike Capps.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Shiloh Bible Church with Pastor/Brother Bill Slaymaker officiating. A community lunch will occur at 11:30 a.m. before the memorial service.

Diana Beth Hain, 80, of Richland Springs, Texas, passed away on the morning of June 13, 2023. She was the most loving, supportive, accepting woman. The town “Grammie,” providing snacks and drinks, “Admission 1 Hug” hanging in her kitchen. Her passion spread wide, from plants and animals to reading and rooting on the Richland Springs Coyote football team on Friday nights.
