Charlie loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and his happiest days were at the ranch with his wife, Gray-Leigh, near their home in San Saba, Texas. He was active in the community, serving on the San Saba City Council, the county’s Board of Appraisal, Business Men’s Club, San Saba County EMS, and as President of the San Saba FFA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jane and Charles Lee Peeler; and sister, Nancy Peeler. He is survived by wife, Gray-Leigh Wilson Peeler; brother, William Peeler (Kittye), and children: Allison Peeler Schwartz (Adam), Charles Lee Peeler III, Christie Peeler Garella (Kiel), Marc Peeler (Krystal), Hendrika Diehl (Wills), and Leigh-Adella Bransom (Dylan), and sister-in-law, Shannon Wilson Callewart. He adored his grandchildren: Michael and Benjamin Schwartz, Brooks and Emmie Garella, Scarlett Peeler, Kase and Kollin Bransom, and Harrison Diehl. His nephews and nieces include Robert Peeler (Jahnna), Price Peeler (Courtney), and Katy and Lucy Callewart.

The family would like to thank Wanda Greathouse and Belinda Leffall for their care and dedicated service. A private memorial service will be held at Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in Dallas, Texas, and an interment service will be held in Cherokee, Texas, at a later date. Charles “Charlie” Lee Peeler, Jr. was born February 24, 1938, and passed away peacefully April 27, 2023. Charlie was born in Dallas, Texas, to Jane and Charles Lee Peeler and graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1956. He attended the University of Texas before entering the Air Force, and following his service, graduated from University of North Texas and started a career as an institutional investment broker.
