William Isaac 'Ike' Morrison, 40, of San Saba, Texas, passed away on August 26, 2026, at 11:52 a.m. at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple, Texas, surrounded by family and friends. His courageous struggle was witnessed by all who loved him; and his faith, strength, and determination remained evident throughout. He was born on July 22, 1986, in Nogal, New Mexico, to Margi Ann and William Van Morrison.
Ike's love for the outdoors began early. At three years old, he was already going to the mountains to ski and hike. He traveled to Alaska when he was four and reached the summit of Sierra Blanca at five. These childhood adventures inspired a lifelong passion for fishing, hunting, horses, and the outdoors.
As a young man, Ike learned ranching, welding, building, and childcare. He also developed an appreciation for music, artifacts, and antiques. As he grew older, he became a devoted father, loyal friend, and accomplished predator-control trapper. He had a special love for children, dogs, and horses.
During the last few years of his life, Ike dedicated himself to his children and to building a career he deeply loved. Those who knew him understood his determination. He mastered the art of trapping and was immensely proud of his work, quickly earning a respected name within the trapping community.
Ike especially loved teaching children the art of trapping. At trapping rendezvous, he generously shared his passion and knowledge with many young people, including his own children. Some of his happiest moments were spent on the trapline with his family. Passing along his knowledge of hunting, fishing, trapping, and horses to his children was one of his greatest joys.
Ike leaves behind his wife, Danessa; his sons, Landon Van and Rowan Isaac; and his daughters, Addilyn Bree and Isabel Ann; his dad, William Van Morrison; his grandmother, Claudine Davis; one brother; two sisters; his in-laws, Macario and Dena Vasquez; and extended family members.
Ike is preceded in death by his mother, Margi Ann Morrison, and numerous other family members.
His love for his family, his knowledge of the outdoors, and the lessons he shared will live on through all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service was held at 11:00 am, Friday, September 4, 2026, at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel in San Saba, Texas.
