Ann Groomes, born November 16, 1934, in San Saba, Texas, passed away leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and lifelong devotion to her family. The cherished daughter of the late Archie and Mary Tomlinson, Anne was affectionately known to her close relatives as 'Sister,' a nickname that reflected her central place in the hearts of those who loved her most.
For many years, Anne worked as a skilled beautician, a profession that perfectly suited her social nature and caring spirit. Her chair was far more than a place for styling hair; it was a neighborhood anchor where clients became lifelong friends, shared stories, and always left feeling brighter than when they walked in.
Above all else, Anne was the proud heart of her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ray Groomes, with whom she built a life centered on love and shared memories. Her strength and gentle guidance live on through her surviving children: her two sons, Kenneth and Danny, and her two daughters, Lisa and Sherry.
Graveside services were held on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 9:00 AM at China Creek Cemetery. Anne's memory will be deeply cherished by her children, extended family and the many lives she touched over the decades.
