Richard “Rick” Mann, 76, of San Saba, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 4, 2026. He was born to James and Flora Mann on April 29, 1950, in Fort Worth, Texas.
After graduating from high school, Rick enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served as a radioman. A proud Vietnam veteran, one of Rick’s greatest accomplishments was being hand-selected as a crew member aboard the USS Iwo Jima during the recovery efforts for the Apollo 13 capsule in 1970.
Following his service in the Navy, Rick spent his career traveling the world installing flight simulators. He loved the outdoors and pursued many passions throughout his life, including hunting, fishing, gardening, scuba diving, raising livestock, and racing pigeons. He also took great pride in his 1971 Plymouth Road Runner, which he lovingly restored.
Rick is survived by his wife, Pam Mann of San Saba; his son, Cody and wife Sarah Mann of San Saba; his daughter, Kendall and husband Devin Moreno of Llano; and his grandchildren, Kelly and Troy Mann.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sons, Justin Stooksberry and Troy Mann; his sister, Bonnie Mouat; and his brotherin-law, James Mouat.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to San Saba Never Surrender or the San Saba Volunteer Fire Department.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at San Saba City Cemetery in San Saba, Texas.
