Little Free Library: Take, Read, Share

The Friends of the Rylander Memorial Library are happy to introduce our first branch location, the Little Free Library! The Little Free Library stands near the playground in Mill Pond Park where you will find it filled with free books to “Take Read Share.” We hope you will drive by and check it out.

Congratulations to Mario

Congratulations to Mario Valdez. He was the winner in the April Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt. The egg hunt was put on by the San Saba County Chamber of Commerce. Mario won $100 in "Go Nuts Chamber Bucks" to use in local businesses. The Chamber is doing a drawing each month through the end of the year.

The grand opening of Howard Payne University’s Newbury Family Welcome Center has been scheduled for Thursday, May 5, featuring self-guided tours from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. and a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 2 p.m. The public is invited, and no R.S.V.P. is required.

St. Lukes Episcopal Church awarded Historical Marker

St. Lukes Episcopal Church, built in 1896 and dedicated in 1897, has been awarded an Historical Marker by The Texas State Historical Commission. The Unveiling and Dedication will be held on April 27, 2002, at 2:00 p.m. on the church property located at the corner of 4th and Dry Streets.
