San Saba Strong Fest sets day of fun to help following floods

The Mill Pond Park will be abuzz with activity and music Saturday, Dec. 6 as the San Saba Strong Fest kicks off at 11 a.m.Entry to the event will be free but donations will be accepted with proceeds going to help rebuild San Saba and aid those affected by the floods that happened this summer.

Council discusses events, amends budget/holiday schedule

Before Thanksgiving, we had a busy week here at Cherokee ISD. Cherokee ISD hosted its third annual College and Career Day on November 20, 2025 and again, it was a great experience for all in attendance!

Passing lane construction on SH16 to begin Dec. 1

Beginning the week of December 1, 2025 (weather permitting), TxDOT’s contractor, Allen Keller, will begin an $11 million construction project on SH 16. The work zone will extend from 0.4 miles south of CR 140 to just prior to the Colorado River Bridge.
