Pierian Study Club has first meeting of the year in the Garden Club building

The Pierian Study Club met Thursday, September 8, 2022, in the historic Garden Club building at Mill Pond Park. Hostesses for the luncheon were the Yearbook Committee consisting of Joanne Weik, Loy Nell Behrens, Gale Ivy, Debbie Shahan, Audrey Smith, and Marsha Smart.

Cherokee Happenings

Its been another quiet week. The heat seems to be endless. Granted, it’s no longer 100 degrees every day, but it’s still hot! All I seem to do is water plants. Fortunately, they're still thriving. We had a visit from our daughter-in-law and our four youngest grandchildren over the weekend.

DPS reminds drivers to put safety first during Child Passenger Safety Week

Child Passenger Safety Week is September 18-24, and the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is reminding drivers to make sure your young passengers are secured properly in order to save lives. Motor vehicle crashes continue to be the leading cause of death among children.

Richland Springs Preservation Society

The Preservation Society held a member meeting this past Thursday, the 15th. There were 18 members of the community present. The purpose was to elect a new president and discuss the progress made on the old bank building. President Sherri Winters resigned in June.
