Cranberry or orange juice mimosas and mint infused water were enjoyed. Circular tables were decorated with white cloths, black and white checked runners, and arrangements of eucalyptus leaves.

After the meal, the club president, Marcia Dyer, welcomed everyone, and five new members introduced themselves: Donna Baxter, Susan Clark, Tracy Farley, Catherine Hanrahan, and Rhonda Killion. Second Vice President Cissy Williams presented the projects for the upcoming year: senior scholarships, Angel Tree, and the Dove Project. Kathleen Hawkins gave the treasurer’s report, and she also informed the club of prospective new members. Corresponding Secretary Brooke Bagley read a thank you note from Piper Moates who received a Pierian scholarship last May. She also gave an update about a previous scholarship recipient, Nayeli Gonzales, who is currently a senior at Angelo State University.

Cissy Williams and Marsha Smart brought two new projects to the club’s attention. These will be considered at future meetings. The next meeting will be at the home of Donna Baxter on October 13th.
