COLLEGE STATION, Texas — The Plantersville-Stoneham Volunteer Fire Department sits across from the town’s Baptist church on F.M. 1774 and is otherwise surrounded mostly by pastureland. The community, a quiet railroad town in southern Grimes County, measures its population in the hundreds.

We had a great time at Youth Camp this past week, July 17-21. Many decisions were made for Christ, including eight salvations. Every ounce of energy expended, and every dollar invested in this ministry is well worth it.

Wildfire burns 250 acres Sunday, July 23rd

The San Saba VFD received a call for a grass fire at 3:30 p.m Sunday near County Road 232 east of Cotton Belt Road. Sheriff's deputies were first on the scene and watched the quickly growing fire jump the county road and move south before fire crews could arrive.

Batchelor and Mann receive honors at July 11th City Council meeting

Eric Batchelor, Police Officer, was selected as the Employee of the Month for June. Alderman Shawn Oliver and Chief John Bauer presented Eric with a plaque with his name on it and a gift certificate to a local restaurant.
