Cherokee Pre-K has been participating in a Color Me Healthy Series. Last week the class went on a vegetable adventure. They enjoyed learning all about the different vegetables and getting to try them out!

Receipts totaled 3171 head for the week. The market was very active with good demand. The stocker steers were $4-$6 higher, and heifers were $2-$3 higher with 42 heifers 600 lbs at $239.00 ($1434.00). The feeder steers were $5-$6 higher with 12 steers 658 lbs at $249.00 ($1638.

Last Tuesday, October 3rd, San Saba Elementary hosted its 4th annual Hispanic Heritage Dinner Celebration. All students from Pk-4th grade performed traditional Hispanic songs and dances.Also, we had the San Saba Band and Dilloettes perform La Bamba.

Fern Putnam, long-time San Saba resident, had one of the many booths set up last Saturday at Pecan Capital Trade Day. Among her home-made Christmas ornaments were gingerbread men, angels, cows, and Santa Claus ornaments with the beard made out of buttons!
