Timely rainfall helps cool-season crops establish before winter

Recent rainfall and cooler temperatures allowed producers across the state to plant coolseason crops and get root systems established before winter, said a Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service expert.

J.V. Dillos defeat Tolar Rattlers 42-26 to win the District Championship

San Saba’s J.V. Dillos exploded to a 42-26 victory over the Tolar J.V. Rattlers at Rogan Field last Thursday evening. The Dillos capped of an undefeated season with 9 wins no losses and one tie. Tolar had previously defeated De Leon. De Leon Tied San Saba earlier in the season.

TPWD Hosting Career, Volunteer Fair at Guadalupe River State Park

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) is hosting a Nov. 11 agency-wide career and volunteer fair at Guadalupe River State Park. The public is invited to visit with staff at the event and learn more about the employment and volunteer opportunities available with all 13 divisions of TPWD.

Mason - San Saba October 26, 2023 Receipts totaled 1,790 head. The market improved as the week went by with Monday being limit down on the futures board due to the larger number of cattle being placed in the feedyards than was anticipated.
