Game Warden Field Notes

Patrolling for wildlife violations, Harris County Game Wardens observed a flashlight beam in the woods and a truck operating erratically on an adjacent private easement road. The wardens stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver.

Five SSHS students headed to State Academic Meet in Austin

Fifteen San Saba High School students traveled to Corpus Christi to compete in the Regional Academic Meet held at the Texas A&M campus last Saturday. San Saba had 4 teams and many individuals representing our school. There were eight districts (consisting of 51 schools) in Region 4 competing.

San Saba High School students visit Capitol in Austin

Last week, an excellent group of seniors from the AP Macroeconomics class at San Saba High School visited the Capitol building in Austin. They learned about the legislative process, how it works with economics and the importance of civic duty before they all head out into the real world.

Masonic Lodge to host Annual High School Seniors Banquet

The ladies of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 191, the Freemasons of San Saba Masonic Lodge No. 612, and the San Saba Scottish Rite Club, will host the annual Seniors Banquet on Monday, May 1st.

Cleanup yields over 16,000 pounds of trash

On Saturday, April 15, 2023, Keep San Saba Beautiful and the City of San Saba held the Great American/Don’t Mess With Texas city-wide cleanup. Sixty-two volunteers gave up their Saturday morning to clean up the community.
