Central Texas and Colorado River Railway Resumes Operations

The Central Texas & Colorado River Railway (CTXR) line is now active. Because this line has not been in use for several years, it can be easy for residents to forget that trains will once again be operating in the area.
Karry Amstead is the new director of the San Saba Senior Center. The Senior Center, located at 705 W. Storey, provides low-cost daily meals, activities, arts and crafts and Bingo for citizens over the age of 60. The Senior Center also provides rental space for different events. Meet the SS Senior Center Director

As seasons change and spring brings chances for renewal, change has taken place at the San Saba Senior Center. Karry Amstead has recently become the new Center Director and is hoping to bring in new ideas to help the senior citizens of San Saba and the surrounding area.

Children at Cherokee Home for Children enjoyed a funfilled Easter celebration thanks to Northside Church of Christ in Temple.About 30 volunteers visited campus for the third annual Easter event, a tradition that continues to grow each year.

80 Years Ago April 4, 1946Pfc. Melvin Davis. U.S. Marines, arrived in San Diego after 28 months in service, 1 1/2 years overseas. He was wounded at Iwo Jima. He called his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Davis, and stated he would be home soon.
