San Saba Elementary fourthgrade students had a unique field trip this year to the San Saba County Courthouse for a hands-on learning experience about local government and the judicial system.
Students met with county officials and staff, learning about the roles of judges, law enforcement, lawyers, and other courthouse employees. They explored different offices and gained a better understanding of how the court system works. The highlight of the trip was a mock trial, where students participated and saw the courtroom process in action. The elementary's very own Mrs. Wells was on trial over missing carrots!
The fourth-grade class would like to thank everyone at the courthouse for taking the time to make the visit both educational and memorable.
A special thank you to Keep San Saba Beautiful for providing pizza for lunch, which students earned by bringing in the most water bottles to recycle.
Overall, the trip gave fourth graders a deeper appreciation for their community and the people who serve it.
