The Richland Springs Report

We have survived the coldest spell in many years. I was surprised to see that this is only number three on the coldest day. I saw that in 1899 it was -1 degrees. I wasn’t alive then, so I can’t appreciate how horrible that event was. I just know these last five days have been a strain.

I am starting this report a little early because I am not sure what the next 24 hours will bring. I noticed the radar and weather show snow hitting this area, and the cold remaining for a few days longer than the original forecast.

WHEREAS, beginning on February 11, 2021, San Saba County was under imminent threat of severe damage, injury or loss of life or property resulting from, Prolonged Freezing Temperatures, Heavy Snow, Freezing Rain, and Extended Power Outages.

Precautions If you have been to a doctor’s office you have had your temperature taken to see if you have a fever. I got off the elevator the other day at the doctor’s office, and as the doors opened they had someone specifically there to do this test and to give you an arm band.
