San Saba vs. Junction: Week-two Preview

The Armadillos will begin their four-game road series this Friday afternoon when they take on the Junction Eagles; kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. The Dillos (1-0) are coming off of a 46-14 win over Florence while the Eagles are coming off of a 28-8 loss to the Deleon Bearcats.

This week marks our first official football week! It started off with a great pep rally put on by the high school cheerleaders. We have enough players this year to have a JV team which gives some of our younger guys some extra experience. These boys really showed up against Smokin’ for Jesus.

San Saba Cross Country season is well underway. Last Thursday, August 19, the Dillos and Lady Dillos competed in the Johnson City 6-mile Relay. This meet was a little unconventional compared to your regular cross country meet as runner ran 1.5 miles instead of the usual 3 miles for guys and 2 miles for the ladies.

Weston Oliver added another accolade to his outstanding 2022 baseball season as he was selected to the Texas Sports Writers Association’s, All State Baseball Team. Oliver was placed on the 2nd team roster as a pitcher/ short stop.
