Five foot seven sophomore forward Cinzlea Stanton was selected to the 2A All-Region 4 team by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches. A year after being a key substitute for the Lady Dillos’2022 state semifinalist team, Stanton averaged 10.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.1 steals and .

News From Cherokee ISD

Last week was Spring Break, and Cherokee ISD students were given 10 days off from school. It was much needed and much deserved for students and staff! Despite the break from school, track continued for our high school students. Seven student athletes were able to compete at the track meet in Mason.

Tuesday, March 7th; San Saba vs Harper The Dillos opened district play against the Harper Longhorns at the Dillo Diamond last Tuesday and came up short 12-1. The Dillos fell behind early and struggled to contain the hard-hitting Longhorns and now are 0-1 in district play.

The San Saba Tennis Team played in the 2A & Under State Team Tennis Tournament on March 10 & 11 in the Waco, Temple, Belton area.
San Saba High School’s Christian Ramirez dominated the regional powerlifting meet last Saturday and will be headed to the state competition March 15th. Ramirez proudly shows off his gold medal along with his “outstanding squatter” plaque. Ramirez broke the regional squat record (740 pounds) and total weight lifted (1,655 pounds).
