Recently, I have noticed that as I am preparing to checkout from various stores, the cashiers will ask if I am military or a first responder. Being me, the self declared female dad joke queen, I often quip, “No, I am an educator. Same idea though.” I get the same response every single time.

School is back in session for Cherokee ISD! Over the summer, we had two athletes compete in All-Star games. Chloe Berrio participated in the Brazos Bowl as well as the TSMCA All Star basketball game. According to Chloe, 'The East team and Coaches were so much fun.

100 Years Ago August 14, 1964Mr. J. D. Sawyer of Teague is here visiting his sister, Mrs. M. J. Crockett north from town and attending he Fair. This was a very interesting meeting for sister and brother, as it had been 56 years since they had seen one another.

When I was named head coach of the newly opening Cedar Creek softball team, I announced to my players and families that we would be a playoff team in three years. The initial season had me rethinking my prediction, but nevertheless, we pushed forward. In our second season, we had three varsity wins.
