Award-winning Golden Armadillo Band - hard at work

The award-winning Golden Armadillo Band doesn't just show up at the ball field a few minutes before the game to put on a spectacular halftime show. It takes hours and hours and hours of practice.

While some students are living it up, enjoying their last few days and weeks of summer break, the Armadillo Band members are hard at work.

Each movement they make on the field takes repetitious drills.

Many of us see the show, hear the sound, and are entertained.

Besides practicing individually on their instruments and then practicing as a group many hours, the band starts weeks before school to get the on-field drills just right.

Every person's posture must be exactly the same. The length of each step must be exactly right. Timing of each step must be completely together. The angle you point your toe when you walk must be exactly the same as everyone else. The tilt of your head has to be exactly like everyone else's.

There are many, many details that go into the wonderful entertainment we have at halftime from our award-winning Golden Armadillo Band.

Thanks, Band, for all your hard work!
