The holiday break is in full swing. The first half of the school year is past, and 2021 is upon us. It’s time to reflect on the good things that have happened at RSISD so far. Faculty and staff are wearing many hats, and truly seem to enjoy being in the midst of their students.

Angelo State University announces 2020 fall and summer graduates

Angelo State University conferred 150 undergraduate degrees and 147 graduate degrees to its summer 2020 graduates and 381 undergraduate and 191 degrees to its fall 2020 graduates that were recognized in a virtual commencement on December 6.

Howard Payne University and Texas State Technical College officially recognize articulation agreement

Howard Payne University and Texas State Technical College (TSTC) recently announced the launch of a collaboration that will help provide students expanded academic opportunities. The agreement applies to all campuses in both institution’s systems.

Coyote Pride

The junior high One Act Play under the direction of Sarah Locker and Patsy Hall competed at the Rochelle ISD One Act Play Festival on Friday, December 11th. Rochelle ISD, Lohn ISD and Brownwood ISD also competed at the Festival. Richland Spring presented Leading Ladies by Ken Ludwig.

The Lady Dillos had another good week as they picked up two more wins over Brownwood and Eula. This moved their record to 10-0 as they prepare to start District play this week in Goldthwaite. First up, The Lady Dillos hosted Brownwood.

The San Saba High School girls’ and boys’ varsity basketball teams continued their very impressive starts to the 2020-21 regular season this past week as both the Lady Dillos and Dillos stayed perfect with victories.

A Word from Wayne

It’s a great day to be a Dillo! This is the last word from Wayne for 2020, and I am ready and hopeful for 2021. When I think back on 2020, I remember how we started the New Year talking about having 20/20 vision for the future. I do not think anybody saw a pandemic coming.
