Body

William Wesley Hardman II, 62, of San Saba, Texas, passed unexpectedly on June 10, 2020, from an auto-pedestrian collision in the Hill Country of Travis County.

Wesley was born to Obert Frank “Soap” and Opaline (Underwood) Hardman in Brady, Texas. He graduated from San Saba High School in 1977 with sports scholarships offered.

After years of friendship and missed connections with Rosalee, their timing fell into place, and he married his love in 1984. They lived together in Sugar Land, Texas, for 23 years. In 2008, Wesley was able to live out his dream of buying a farm where he planted a pecan orchard in Sealy, Texas. Together, they raised two children and became grandparents in January 2020.

Anyone who knew Wesley knew that he was the most loving father and spouse a family could ask for. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Rosalee “Rosy”; his two children, Rachel (Ryan) and Jonathan (Morgan); and granddaughter, Elena. He also leaves to cherish his memory, three siblings: Cindy, Dennis and Dianna; along with several cousins, nieces and nephews. Wesley was preceded in death by his father, “Soap;” his mother, Opaline; and his brother, Wayland.

Wesley had a 30-year career with Volume Millwork, an architectural millwork company specializing in the aviation industry. This was a profession that introduced him to many faces and airports nationwide, where he never met a stranger.

Wesley was known by all to have a big heart and an unforgettable smile. He was selfless, cheerful, generous, strong, and the energy in the room - full of stories that brought heartfelt laughs. He was happiest in the kitchen making a pie or outmanning the grill.

He had a passion for tinkering with a few too many projects, a green thumb for planting anything with seeds, and a never-ending urge to drive around on the tractor.

Wesley taught his children to appreciate life. He was always there to fix a problem, teach them how to perfect a DIY, and he took great pride in stocking their tool boxes and garages.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2020, at the First Baptist Church in San Saba, Texas, at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Sam Crosby officiating. Interment will follow at Sloan Community Cemetery on FM 2732. There will be a memorial service held in the Sealy/Houston area the following week.

Blaylock Funeral Home of San Saba, Texas, is in charge of arrangements.
