George was born in San Saba, Texas, to Frank Raymond Gray and Gertrude Kathleen Foster Gray. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School. George was a cattle rancher most of his life in Cherokee, Texas. His great-grandfather, also George Gray, arrived with his family in 1860. They played an instrumental role in the town’s development. This being said, this is the first time our town has not had a George Gray since 1860. George was a lifetime Harley rider. He and Rose were members of the Llano Gypsy Motorcycle Club. “Old Man and Briar Rose” rode together for decades. He enjoyed riding his Harley, working on most anything with an engine, and spending time with family. He never missed the opportunity to listen to or tell a good joke. He was a kind person who spent a lifetime helping family, friends, and even total strangers.

George is survived by his children: son, Darrin W. Gray, daughter, Donia N. Gray and her children Kierra and Jared, daughter, Catina R. Levensailor and her children Dillion and Katy, daughter, Silvia R. Acuff and her children Heather and Dustin, daughter, Patricia A. and Bill Blacketer and her daughter Katy, late son, Utah D. Clopton and his children Amy and Utah, daughter and beloved sonin- law, Christine A and Jerry Nelson and their daughters Kristen and Amy, daughter, Lisa C. Tagoe and her children Alexandra and Eric, daughter, Sarah D and Wayne Franklin and their daughters Nicole and Elizabeth, and a sister, Betty Johnson and her children. He is also remembered by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Lastly his friend, his little dog Petey Gray.

He will be missed greatly by all! Online condolences can be made at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
