Stuart Marshall Beckwith

Stuart Marshall Beckwith, age 62, of Burnet, passed away Friday, February 18, 2022. Stuart was born on March

Stuart was born on March 28, 1959, to Merwin and Jean (Hardgrove) Beckwith in Fort Worth. Stuart grew up in Burleson and graduated from Burleson High School in 1977. He went on to play college football at the University of Texas at Arlington. After his time at UTA, Stuart transferred to Wayland Baptist University to play college basketball and complete his Bachelor of Science degree in physical education. While in Plainview, he had the opportunity to serve as an assistant coach for the WBU Flying Queens.

Stuart's passion for basketball continued after college through his travel with the Texas Crusaders in Brazil - through this, he was able to spread the word of Jesus while playing the sport he loved. He took his talents and coached at the high school level at many school districts. While teaching in San Saba, he met the love of his life, Dana. Stuart and Dana were married on July 16, 1994, in San Saba, Texas. They were married for 27 years before his passing.

Stuart always said that he was "Greatly blessed and Highly favored." This was evident through his time as Children's Minister at First Baptist Church and Bivocational Pastor at Pecan Grove Baptist Church in San Saba. Stuart retired from coaching in 2017. Since retirement, he has made the world brighter through his Hershey Ice Cream and Dippin' Dots distribution business. His hobbies included spending time with his family, keeping up with all things related to Walt Disney World, playing golf, and traveling with his wife, Dana. Stuart will be greatly missed by his wife, Dana Holland Beck
