Louise Hyman peacefully passed away on June 4th, 2026, in Frisco, Texas. A funeral service for Louise was held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Blaylock Funeral Home of San Saba. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of San Saba.
Louise Ketchum was born in San Saba County, Texas, on January 18, 1934, to James Pete Ketchum and Lillian Ketchum. On June 22, 1954, she married the love of her life, Albert Hyman. Together, they welcomed two children, Janet and Lynn. Over the years, the family lived in several places while Al served in the United States Navy and later worked for El Paso Natural Gas. After Al's retirement, Louise and Al settled on their farm just outside Richland Springs, Texas, in 1989, where they enjoyed the peaceful country life they had always loved.
For many years, Louise faithfully served her church community by teaching Sunday school, touching the lives of countless children with her kindness, wisdom, and steadfast faith. Her church was not only a place of worship but also a place of fellowship, where she joyfully helped host Friday night Fifth Quarter events for student athletes. Through these gatherings, she helped create a welcoming environment where young people felt encouraged, supported, and cared for.
Known for her strength and independence, Louise rarely asked for help and approached life's challenges with determination and grace. She possessed a resilient spirit, often accomplishing tasks on her own that many would have found impossible. Her perseverance and courage inspired everyone who knew her.
Louise loved deeply in her own quiet way. She was not one for grand gestures or many words, but her love was evident in her constant presence, support, and the countless ways she cared for those around her. Her family always knew they could depend on her. Whether offering guidance, encouragement, or simply being there when she was needed most, Louise provided a source of strength and comfort throughout their lives.
Above all, Louise treasured her family. She was a devoted mother to her children, Janet and Lynn, and took great pride in the lives they built and the families they raised. She loved the time she spent with her granddaughters, Amanda and Lynzie, and later experienced the joy of becoming a great-grandmother. She was blessed with the opportunity to meet her great-granddaughter, Sloane, who was born in January 2026.
Though her presence will be deeply missed, her legacy of faith, service, strength, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Hyman; her parents, James Pete Ketchum and Lillian Ketchum; and her siblings, Elvin Ketchum, Lee Ketchum, Ollie Ketchum, Marie Ketchum, Lonnie Ketchum, Howard Ketchum, and James Ketchum.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet Hyman of Little Elm, Texas; her son, Lynn Hyman and wife Janice of Hobbs, New Mexico; her granddaughters, Amanda Ramos of Hobbs, New Mexico, and Lynzie Persilver and husband Canan Persilver of Hobbs, New Mexico; her great-granddaughter, Sloane Persilver; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
