Burt Worth Isham

Burt Worth Isham, 84, lifelong resident of San Saba, Texas, passed away on September 17, 2020, after a courageous six-year battle with Leukemia.

Worth was born in San Saba, Texas, on November 5, 1935, to Grady and Mattie Isham. He married Patsy Stuart on June 18, 1959, and they raised four children. He started Isham Electric in 1960 and continued to go to work until a few months before his death. He took much pride in his business and through it taught his children how to treat people fairly and with respect. He was a quiet man, frequently saying, “You can learn more by listening than talking.” Worth loved hunting and fishing, going Elk hunting in Colorado or New Mexico for 25 years straight until he became too weak to tolerate the altitude. He also enjoyed tending to his cattle, traveling with the Ragsdales and Blossmans and was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan. His strong faith, positivity and strong will encouraged his friends and family around him as he finished his race with clear eyes and a full heart.

Worth is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patsy; children: Jerilyn McKinney Davis and husband, Larry, of San Saba; Don Isham and wife, Karen, of San Saba; Cheray Haverland and husband, Karl, of Leander; and Stuart Isham and wife, Jessica, of San Saba. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren including: Candace McKinney; Daniel McKinney and wife, Falyn; Kade Isham and wife, Ashley; Kristen Isham; Kolton Haverland; Joely Haverland; Kutter Isham; Kynedi Isham; Sarah and Waylon McCoury and children; Tara Ketchum and children; and Kara Davis. His four great-grandchildren include: Kadence, Emeri, Landon, and Tatum. Worth is also survived by his two sisters, Gradine Stallman of Richmond and Joann Gunlock and husband, Dave, of Manor. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Mattie Isham.

Services were held at First Baptist Church, San Saba, Texas, on Sunday, September 20, 2020, with Brother Sam Crosby offciating. Internment was at China Creek Cemetery. The service was under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home.

Pallbearers include his grandsons and sons-in-law: Kade Isham, Daniel McKinney, Kolton Haverland, Kutter Isham, Larry Davis, and Karl Haverland.

Honorary pallbearers include: Joe Ragsdale and the members of Jimmy Jones Sunday school class.
