Commissioners’ Court holds regular meeting, April 12th

The San Saba Commissioners’ Court met for a regular meeting on Monday, April 12th, in the District Courtroom. Judge Byron Theodosis called the meeting to order at 9:03 a.m. Commissioner Rickey Lusty gave the invocation and led everyone in the pledges to the American flag and the Texas Flag.

Lindsay Alexander, a young ranch woman from the small town of Cherokee in the Hill Country of Texas had an idea. It was to have a Women’s Ranch Seminar. The first of its kind in the State and a way to support women in a field that traditionally is seen as a man’s occupation.

Receipts totaled 1,367 head with no sale being held on Monday in Mason due to Easter. Demand was very strong with a lot of activity. Socker steers sold $2-$4 higher with 2 steers 450 lbs at $195.00 ($877.50) and 5 steers 579 lbs at $169.00 ($978.51).
