The San Saba Commissioners’ Court met for a regular meeting on Monday, April 12th, in the District Courtroom. Judge Byron Theodosis called the meeting to order at 9:03 a.m. Commissioner Rickey Lusty gave the invocation and led everyone in the pledges to the American flag and the Texas Flag.

Audience for Concerned Citizens for Public Comment:

Sheriff David Jenkins presented a proposal to the Court to declare San Saba County a Second Amendment Sanctuary. Thirty-two county residents attended the meeting specifically for this proposal. Judge Theodosis directed the attendees who wanted to talk about the proposal by Sheriff Jenkins that they could freely speak their issues and/or concerns regarding this proposal.

Since this part of the overall meeting was rather lengthy, Judge Theodosis called for a break at one point. However, during discussion over this proposal, questions were posed by attendees and Court members and answered by representative or Commissioners' Court personnel.

Since the initial proposal was wordy and several pages, the Sheriff and Chief Deputy Sheriff were able to model a more concise proposal after Llano's approved Second Amendment Sanctuary proposal.

With this revision and presentation of a new proposal, the Court voted in approval of same. Thus, San Saba County is now a Second Amendment Sanctuary. The approved Resolution will be published in the April 15th edition of San Saba News & Star.

Judge Theodosis stated he was grateful for all citizens in attendance and especially grateful for all the constructive comments that were shared. The Court welcomes your attendance and opinions always. Everyone in attendance supported the Court's attempt to protect our 2nd Amendment rights and declare San Saba as a sanctuary county.
