The San Saba County Museum to open this Saturday, April 1st

The San Saba County Museum to open this Saturday, April 1st

The museum has a fresh coat of paint and is ready to welcome visitors for the 2023 season. On Saturday and Sunday afternoons, starting this Saturday, April 1st, the museum will be open 1:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. through October, except for Easter Sunday. Come see our new and/or expanded exhibits.

'The Great San Saba Warrant Round-Up'

This past week, Judge Sharon Blossman, Justice of the Peace in partnership with the San Saba Police Department and the San Saba County Sheriff's Office, implemented the first Warrant Round-Up in San Saba, Texas. The warrant round-up began on March 20th and continued through March 25th.

Years ago, my wife and I raised sheep and goats on a ranch with lots of steep canyons. We had to do a lot of horseback riding trying to get those things rounded up that did not want to be rounded up. We started raising horses that were good in rough country.

Hill Country Cattlewomen donate gift cards for beef to food banks

The Hill Country Cattle-Women (HCCW) are delighted to have donated eight $100 gift cards to deserving food bank charities in the counties Hill Country CattleWomen serve. These gifts are for the purchase of Beef to assist those in need from The Dutchmen’s Meat Market in Fredericksburg.

Mason - San Saba March 16, 2023 Receipts totaled 2,197 head. The market continued to be very good again this week. The stocker steers sold steady to $6 higher with 13 steers 559 lbs at $254.00 ($1419.86), and stocker heifers sold steady to $4 higher.
