San Saba Volunteer Fire Department
Hot, dry conditions have prevailed in San Saba County lately, and are expected to continue through the holiday weekend. Inside the city limits, fireworks are illegal, and if you live outside the city limits, please exercise safety and common sense in celebrating the Fourth of July. Volunteers would like to spend the holiday with their families instead of being called out to extinguish a fire. Enjoy the Forth, and pray for rain!
John Bauer - San Saba Police Chief
• Always be safe
• Leave the professional fireworks to the professionals • Be careful about the consuming of alcohol because of the heat
• Don’t drink and drive
Reid Daly - San Saba County Chief Deputy
Be safe this Fourth of July. Have fun celebrating Independence Day. Be careful traveling on the roadways. Watch your surroundings. Have a good Fourth of July.
MarshaHardy/SSCounty Emergency Management Coordinator:
A lot of the people go to parks and have cookouts and that’s fine. If you have a cookout, remember to:
• Have water
• Have people there
• Don’t leave an open flame
• Watch your kids - don’t have a child around an open flame. Kids working the cookout can be dangerous. Keep a close eye on them. Roasting marshmallows can be fun, but not if someone gets hurt. A lot of the people go to parks and have cookouts and that’s fine.
