Why Native Plants?

This is a topic I have discussed before, but it is a message that needs to be repeated. Simply put, for the health and sustainability of the local ecosystem, native plants are essential and nonnative plants are either mildly or severely detrimental.

June 29, 2023 Receipts totaled 1,274 head. The market continued to see very good demand with stocker steers selling $4 higher and stocker heifers selling $4 higher also.
The Richland Springs Beautification Committee is happy to announce the first winner of the year for Yard of the Month is Delores Mask. Her yard is perpetually beautiful and well kept. She works hard on it consistently, and this is well deserved. Because of the generosity of McKinnerney Real Estate, she was gifted a gift card to Skelton's Hardware downtown. Thank you Mrs. Mask and McKinnerney Real Estate for working so hard towards improving our town.

San Saba County Museum is sporting a new look

There are now eleven colorful panels that depict San Saba County History across the front of the museum. The theme of the panels is how San Saba County’s water resource is the pivotable point of settlement and the economy, beginning with the earliest native Americans who hunted and gathered here.
