The Great War World War I (WWI) or The Great War (1914-1918), was the war to end all wars. It dwarfed those of previous wars as the total number of deaths includes from 9 to 11 million military personnel with the civilian death toll estimated at 6 to 13 million.

Each year in April, the President of the United States issues a proclamation to announce National Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Even though it's just the first week of April, it seems like springtime visitors have already arrived. Almost every day looking outside the front door of the News Office, I can see tourists walking down the sidewalk. How do I know they are tourists?
5/3/1973, 50 years ago: NO SHOW TONIGHT –– The Corral Drive-in Theatre received extensive damage from the hail and high wind, ripping the screen loose and dropping the remains on the mobile home below. Estimates of the damage were not available late Friday but Manager Bob Whorton considers the loss heavy. The mobile home was also heavily damaged but no one was in it at the time of the storm.

Central Texas Farm Credit returns record $8.3 million to customers

Central Texas Farm Credit (CTFC) returned a record $8.3 million patronage refund in mid-March to its customers, thanks to the cooperative’s strong financial results in 2022.
