Mason - San Saba April 27, 2023 Receipts totaled 1,707 head. The demand was very good this week with a very active market. The stocker steers were $3-$6 higher with 5 steers 593 lbs at $242.00 ($1435.00). Stocker heifers were $6-$8 higher with 9 heifers 502 lbs at $229.00 ($1149.58).

Women's Ranch Seminar hosted by Hill Country CattleWomen

Registration is now open for the 2023 Women's Ranch Seminar hosted by the Hill Country CattleWomen. This free, in-person event will be held on Thursday, June 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Gillespie County Farm Bureau Events Center in Fredericksburg. Lunch will be prepared by Texas Beef Council.

Hill Country Cattlewomen May Meeting

The Hill Country Cattlewomen will hold their May meeting on Tuesday, May 16, at Sandstone Street Bed and Breakfast located at 508 East Sandstone Street in Llano. The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. Lunch is $20 and will be served at noon.

Managed Lands Deer Program Enrollmentis open for the 2023-24 hunting season

Enrollment in the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department's Managed Lands Deer Program (MLDP) is now open for the 2023-24 hunting season. Open enrollment for the MLDP Conservation Option runs April 2 through June 15; the Harvest Option opens May 1 and ends September 1.

As the end of the year ends, there are so many events taking place. FFA has been very busy the last few weeks. Skyla Shannon and Summer Smarr competed at the Kingsville FFA Ag Mechanics Show. Skyla received a blue ribbon for her wagon wheel table. Summer received a red ribbon for her patio bench.
