Wildfire burns 250 acres Sunday, July 23rd

The San Saba VFD received a call for a grass fire at 3:30 p.m Sunday near County Road 232 east of Cotton Belt Road. Sheriff's deputies were first on the scene and watched the quickly growing fire jump the county road and move south before fire crews could arrive.

Batchelor and Mann receive honors at July 11th City Council meeting

Eric Batchelor, Police Officer, was selected as the Employee of the Month for June. Alderman Shawn Oliver and Chief John Bauer presented Eric with a plaque with his name on it and a gift certificate to a local restaurant.

Thick, black smoke sent San Saba volunteer firefighters scrambling on Tuesday, July 18th, about 2:30 p.m. A neighbor on County Road 114 had called in a grass fire, which was moving toward a home on the property.

It’s once again time for the San Saba All Sports Booster Club’s (SSASBC) annual Meet the Dillos to be held Friday, August 4th. This year’s meal will consist of a loaded baked potato, a dessert and sweet tea or water. Meals will be $10.
