San Saba High School students to be given Statewide Music Award

Students of the San Saba High School will be honored as Texas Music Scholars at the ceremony on May 13, 2024. The six students who were selected for this honor are: • Natalie Cuevas, 12th grade, Alto Clarinet • Evelyn Davila, 11th grade, F Horn • Jesus Garcia, 10th grade, Tenor Trombone • John Ham, 12th grade, Tuba • Jessica Nguyen, 11th grade, Flute • One Nguyen, 12th grade, Tuba They were nominated for this honor by their director, Chans Moellendorf, and the award is given by the Texas Music Educators Association, which sponsors the Texas All-State Band, Orchestras and Choirs.

Pierian Club new officers treated with sweets

The Pierian Club met at the Hotel San Saba on Thursday, April 11, for their final business meeting. President Marcia Dyer presided over the meeting and presented the new slate of officers for the 2024-2025 year. She gave each incoming officer a candy bar with the name that was cleverly associated with her position.

Busy Week for KSSB Volunteers

In conjunction with the Great American Cleanup, the Don’t Mess with Texas Trash Up, the Keep Texas Recycling (KTR)/Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages recycling, and the LCRA Steps Forward Day Project, KSSB planned a few activities in support of these programs. Such activities deserve recognition. Thanks to all the volunteers that made it possible.
