On Tuesday, February 6th, Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives failed to impeach Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas by a vote of 214-216. Mayorkas has been roundly criticized by Republicans for flagrant abuses of federal immigration law and lax enforcement that has led to over 8 million nationwide border encounters and nearly 2 million known gotaways since January 2021.

What a wild spring we are having, except it’s still winter. My poor old house is either getting wet or peeling back the tin on the roof from the winds. I’ve been waffling about repairs, but having expended all my energy to get it arranged the way I like, I need to get it repaired. My grand old lady is over 110 years old and deserves to be repaired. Money is usually the issue.

The San Saba Commissioners Court met on January 16, 2024, in the Commissioners Courtroom on the second floor of the courthouse. The Court discussed taking possible action on a Public Notice for Cancellation of a Subdivision in Precinct 3. The Court approved for the going forward with the three Notices in the newspaper, leading up to the hearing on February 14, 2024, at 8:30 a.m. to be voted on during the Commissioners Court meeting at 9:00 a.m. on that same date.
