I would like to take this opportunity to share what RSISD has done regarding our safety hardening of the district. 1. NEW PHONE SYSTEM We partnered with a new phone system vendor, so we could utilize our new technology frameworks to better communicate within the district. Before the change, we could not communicate effectively or efficiently with outlying buildings such as our gym, ag facility, football field, field house, etc. Now, we can communicate immediately, from anywhere, on or off campus via an app our campus administrators can utilize from their cell phones. Messages are broadcast across campus using classroom phones, IP speakers in our hallways and outlying instructional buildings, and bull horns in green spaces such as the playground, common area outside our cafeteria, and field areas. This change did require that we institute a NEW PHONE number...

2. MAGNETIC LOCK DOORS -

Magnetic Lock Security Doors have been installed at our three main egresses on campus. Public access to campus will only be granted via a new monitor system at the high school entrance. 3. RAPTOR Check-in Procedures - Once access to the high school has been granted, the visitor must be prepared to provide our receptionist their ID, so it can be scanned utilizing our RAPTOR system. After the visitor is vetted and approved, a pass will be issued to our guest, and the guest will be escorted to, and ultimately from, their destination on campus. 4. NEW SAFETY CURRICULUM - Our staff and students have been trained via the I LOVE YOU, GUYS safety curriculum, and RSISD is entered into an MOU with the San Saba County Sheriff's Office to ensure our program is implemented and supported with fidelity.
