The First Presbyterian Church of San Saba is excited to host a free Back-to-School Bash on Saturday, July 26, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the church located at 207 E. Commerce St., San Saba, TX 76877.

Santiago Mendoza visited the news office to proudly show off his 32-pound catfish he caught on the Colorado River last Friday, July 18th. Santiago is 11 years old. He caught this beauty with a rod-n-reel using cut shad as bait while fishing with his brother and his brother's friend.

July 14, 2025• Reporting party called stating that there was a black cow in the roadway at Hwy 16 N & FM 500 in San Saba.• Reporting party advised there is a vehicle stuck in the river to the west of the Colorado River bridge on FM 45. Mills County advised it was on their side of the river.

Mason & San Saba July 17, 2025Receipts totaled 960 head which were reduced to the abundant amount of rainfall and flooding throughout the area. The stocker steers were steady except for the 500 weights which were $2-$3 higher with 13 steers 561 lbs at $384.00 ($2154.24).
